Useful information

What is the Rosehip?

The rosehip is a thorny shrub with a very ancient origin, is a member of the Rosaceae family and its botanical name is Rosa lutetiana.

It is also called "thorn rose" or "wild rose" as it grows wild all over the world and adapts well to any soil and climate. It can grow at various altitudes, from sea level to the mountains.

Since time immemorial, rosehip berries have been widely used in cooking; today they are also increasingly appreciated for their properties.

Rose hip: the plant

Rose hip is among the wild rose species, in fact, it can grow wildly in the countryside, hills or mountains.

Also called "wild rose" because it can adapt to even the most inaccessible places, at the edge of forests, dirt roads or on uncultivated fields, as long as it is sunny and the clayey soil.

The flowers are simple and consist of five petals, the color can varyfrom white to fuchsia to pale pink, are not very fragrant and bloom around May-July.

The berries, or cinorrods, are the false fruit of the plant; the real fruit, the achenes, are the little yellow seeds that are found inside and are covered with a thin down.

What are the properties of the Rosehip?

The rosehip is considered very interesting for its Vitamin C content. Not only because it is present in large quantities, but especially because it is present in a form that is assimilated by our bodies easily.

Vitamin C contributes to the maintenance of normal function of the immune system even during and after intense physical exertion, enhances the absorption of iron, and contributes to the reduction of fatigue and fatigue.

It also contributes to the normal formation of collagen for the normal function of blood vessels, bones, cartilage, skin, teeth, and gums.

Finally, vitamin C contributes to protection of cells from oxidative stress, contributes to normal energy metabolism, nervous system, and normal psychological function.

In addition, Rosehip possesses antioxidant properties, has a supportive and restorative action, and helps regulate intestinal transit.

Flavor and Texture of Hagenbutten

The Rosehip berries, the Cinorrods or "hagenbutten," from which our powder is made, come from organic farming.

The Cinorrodo is a red berry and has a fleshy texture. It is edible but sour and not very palatable fresh; in fact, it is difficult to find it commercially as is, while it is now widespread on the market in the form of integrators and powder.

Our organic rosehips have adark ochre color, due to a balanced ratio between the skin, pulp and seeds of the berries, which is typical when the whole berry is ground, and is therefore more nutritious.

In contrast, when the color is more tending toward yellow, it means that there is a higher percentage of seeds within the powder.

The flavor of rosehip powder is slightly sour (similar to citrus) and fruity. Most important is the processing method: NaturaleBio rosehip is processed at low temperatures to preserve all its nutrients intact and maintain high levels of Vitamin C.

WELL

Good product, although I don't like the taste. The positive effects on skin and hair are very noticeable, but I usually mix it with cinnamon in yogurt so that the earthy flavor is not as noticeable. One teaspoon or less is enough.
