Coconut oil is truly a versatile product on hair. It can be used instead of conditioner, hair mask, as a pre-shampoo pack, but today we find out how to use coconut oil for curly hair.
Due to its chemical composition, coconut oil is capable of nourishing the hair deeply, leaving it soft, shiny and visibly healthier.
Those who have wonderful curly hair know perfectly well how much care and attention needs to be given even just for a simple wash.
Many of them use coconut oil for the care and definition of their curls.
But let's see in detail all the steps for the correct use of this oil on curly hair.
A step by step guide on how to apply coconut oil on curly hair:
1] Rinse your hair with water and comb it carefully.
It is advisable to apply coconut oil to well-combed hair, in order to spread it evenly.
*Curly hair is usually combed when wet, hence the need for the first rinse. If you have no problems combing your hair when dry, you can skip this part and move straight to the next point
2] Apply coconut oil and comb to spread it evenly throughout the hair.
Below 23° it is solid, but it is sufficient to warm it in your hands to melt it.
*You don't need to use a large quantity, use only on the ends if your hair is dry and frizzy
3] Leave the coconut oil to act for about half an hour, wrapping your hair in a small towel.
4] Wash your hair thoroughly and pat dry well with the towel.
5] Comb the hair with the brush and then with your fingers, upside down, from bottom to top.
6] Apply the Foam/Mousse/your favorite product, continuing to comb with your fingers from bottom to top.
In fact, those with curly hair generally use a product to define the curl.
7] Dry, always upside down, with the diffuser, you must avoid moving the hair too much.
*If possible, wash your hair in the evening, in order to give the curly hair time to relax and define itself during the night (excess foam/product is eliminated and the hair remains soft). The next day your hair will be softer and shinier.
