If chefs are "obsessed" with plating, enthusiasts of meal-prep know well that even in the case of a meal in tupperware… even the eye wants its part!

Nothing sadder than opening a plastic container and finding pasta, condiments and other ingredients thrown in randomly, mixed up and unappetizing to eat with your eyes.

The bento box for the Japanese, in fact, is not just a practical way to bringing lunch to work – the equivalent of our “schiscetta” – but a small masterpiece of colors and combinations.

“Bento” is the container, a small box usually made of natural materials such as bamboo, with different compartments for arranging the food in an orderly manner, separating the various courses, and equipped with a lid. It is often further protected by a cloth that wraps it and makes it more easily transportable.

Not only that, it is generally also equipped with a compartment for storing reusable cutlery.

How to organize the perfect lunch box

But how to organize the meal in the best way? Taking advantage of all the compartments depending on the size!

Lots of vegetables, therefore, while in smaller spaces you can add protein sources - animal or vegetable depending on your diet, such as eggs or legumes - and then fresh and dried fruit, and why not a small sweet treat, such as a chocolate or a couple of your favorite biscuits.

The essential thing is that everything is balanced and presents itself as pleasant to the eye and the palate at the same time.
