I study health sciences, and most people associated beets with nitric oxide, which is gaining lots of popularity and attention. I recommend listening/reading the work of Dr Nathan Bryan for more information. I enjoy going into the science and biology of certain molecules and ingredients so bare with me as I hope my review gives you some more insight into this beet powder. Whole beetroot is naturally rich in inorganic nitrate, betalains, and dietary fibre. When consumed, dietary nitrate is absorbed and utilised via the enterosalivary circulation pathway. It enters the bloodstream, concentrates in the salivary glands, and gets reduced to nitrite by facultative anaerobic oral bacteria on the tongue. Once swallowed into the acidic gastric juice and later absorbed into systemic circulation, nitrite is reduced to bioactive nitric oxide during periods of low oxygen or acidosis in working muscle beds. This improves mitochondrial respiration efficiency and enhances microvascular perfusion by relaxing endothelial vascular smooth muscle. Having a pure powder form means you get the full matrix of the root, including betaine, which acts as an intracellular osmolyte and methyl group donor in homocysteine remethylation. I normally do my homework before adding in any new supplement, it does help in understanding the science or mechanisms, so I do have a good grasp of the why and when to use supplements. A lot of leading experts in the cardiovascular space, like Dr Nathan Bryan, have spent years highlighting how vital this whole food nitrate to nitrite pathway is for systemic nitric oxide availability. To put this simply for everyday understanding, your blood vessels rely on signals to widen and let blood flow smoothly, and whole beetroot provides the exact raw fuel your oral bacteria and tissues need to create those signals. Beyond just blood flow, the rich ruby pigment comes from betalains, which are unique nitrogenous water soluble pigments that act as direct free radical scavengers. When you undergo tough training sessions, these antioxidants help buffer lipid peroxidation in cell membranes, assisting systemic tissue recovery without blunting normal training adaptations. Using this powder day to day has been very positive across training and general recovery. The powder is milled finely, has a deep ruby colour, and dissolves smoothly in warm porridge, smoothies, or stirred with water and a squeeze of fresh lemon. The taste is distinctly earthy and slightly sweet, which is exactly what you want from authentic dehydrated root. During extended cardio sessions and tempo runs, I noticed less overall muscular heaviness in the later stages of exertion. Because it is pure whole food, it never causes any digestive discomfort, and it delivers a reliable boost without the jitters or artificial crash of standard pre workout formulas. When it comes to price, £8.99 for 450 g I think is quite good, and when the larger 950 g bag is around, the cost per serving is exceptionally competitive. Ingredients wise, doesn't have any added fillers or anti-caking agents, which is a bonus. For me personally, I take it 6 days a week, mixing roughly five to ten grams into my morning oats or post workout shake, which keeps my routine consistent while keeping my daily markers right where I want them. According to a trial published in the Journal of Applied Physiology, consuming natural beetroot nitrate reduced the oxygen cost of moderate exercise by over five percent while significantly improving time to exhaustion, which is pretty interesting. Great product, any changes I will update. I hope you found this review helpful.

This NaturaleBio Organic Dehydrated Beetroot Powder is an easy way to use beetroot. I wanted it to help support my liver as it is amongst the food groups that benefit it. Eating beetroot everyday would become a chore as I also limit vinegar and pickles etc so it would have to be fresh - yum but I know I would go off it. This powder makes life easier as I currently make it up as a smoothie drink, but will consider adding it to cooking when salads are done. The powder is very fine but you need to mix it well as it has the tendency to clump and they have dry powder in them. I got a small smoothie type blender and give it a shake midway through the cycle, using just one heaped teaspoon to start off with. It tastes as expected - beetroot, very pleasant, not sweet or bitter, just right.
