All you need to know about Matcha Bamboo Whisk

What is a matcha bamboo whisk used for?

The chasen is used to mix matcha powder with hot water, dissolve clumps, and create a fine, frothy foam for traditional Japanese matcha tea.

How long will my bamboo whisk last?

With regular use and proper care, a whisk typically lasts several months. Heavy daily use will naturally shorten its lifespan as the prongs gradually open and soften.

Why should I soak the whisk before using it?

Soaking in warm water helps the prongs soften, unfurl and become more flexible, reducing the risk of breakage and improving the quality of the foam.

Can I use the chasen for matcha lattes too?

Yes. You can whisk matcha with water first to form a smooth base, then add milk (hot or cold) for lattes, iced matcha or other recipes.
