As is now tradition, January becomes Veganuary! The first month of the new year becomes the perfect opportunity to discover plant-based recipes and approach a more "green" way of bringing flavor to the table.
But how did veganism month come about? And how can you make the most of it to discover everything about plant-based nutrition?
Veganuary is a new but already very felt and consolidated trend in the vegan and vegetarian community around the world. Suffice it to say that the 2021 edition brought wellhalf a million people to actively try plant-based nutrition.
The idea is linked to good resolutions for the new year, which is why January was chosen. In this period, in fact, we are more predisposed to change, to try new lifestyles and good habits, which are healthy for the body, mind and planet. It all starts with doing the shopping in the right way, choosing lots of seasonal fruit and vegetables, good flours and oils, and perhaps integrating with your own superfoods favorites.
By registering on the platform, you receive emails with recipes, ebooks and advice to gradually get used to a vegan diet o plant-based, also depending on your starting point (if you are omnivorous, pescetarians, vegetarians or other).
The reasons are also important: according to the 2021 survey, 22% of users would have chosen to try the month of Vaganuary for health reasons, 46% for love of animals, 21% to help the Planet and 11% for other personal reasons, such as food intolerances and similar.
Of course, for those who love meat and dairy products very much, it is not easy to become 100% veg overnight. This is why it is a journey, one step at a time, guided for 31 days, which can then be continued independently thanks to the knowledge and recipes acquired.
Because often, in truth, you don't even try for a very simple reason: you don't know what to bring to the table!
First of all, it is not true that being vegan means eating only salad, a few tasteless and unappealing foods, on the contrary.
Many foods that are the basis of our diet are already vegan, in themselves: don't you believe it? Our beloved tomato pasta and marinara pizza!
And very little is needed to make many dishes and desserts vegan: risotto, if creamed with olive oil instead of butter, cakes, replacing the butter with coconut oil, savory pies, using chickpea flour to create the creamy filling instead of egg... they are just some very easy substitutions, which open up new scenarios, new flavours, colors and combinations!
We at NaturaleBio also have a 100% veg recipe book coming soon... keep following us!
