We know, the word "detox" can be misinterpreted: our body, thanks to the liver and kidneys, already has the perfect tools to get rid of toxins and harmful substances, without the need for magical "drinks".
But why not give your body a helping hand with a natural and delicious drink like green tea? For a 100% natural purification, which also means hydration and being full of antioxidants!
Green teas, as is known, contain substances that can be beneficial for the well-being and proper functioning of the body.
Catechins, for example, present in Matcha Tea, are microelements capable of counteracting tissue oxidation.
Also green leaf teas such as Sencha and Gyokuro contain antioxidants, effective against cellular aging, protective for the health of the heart and nervous system. Not only that, they also contain small quantities of mineral salts and vitamins.
But, obviously, we don't drink them just because they are good for the body: their unmistakable scent and peculiar flavor makes green teas delicate, enveloping, a real treat, especially in the cold months.
Even from a psychological point of view, in fact, taking a break with a green tea helps to relax, increases concentration and a sense of greater mindfulness.
To always be enjoyed following the optimal preparation: the Matcha Tea Ceremony is traditional and ancient, and allows you to obtain the perfect drink, with the classic "foam" on the surface, dissolving the powder in hot but not boiling water with the typical bamboo "whisker" and quick movements.
The preparation of leaf teas takes place, however, by infusion: the small dark green leaves, similar to very thin pine needles, must be infused in hot water (but not boiling!) for a different duration depending on the type of tea chosen. Sencha is quicker, 30 seconds are enough, while at least a couple of minutes for Gyokuro.
So, this detox green tea doesn't exist? Not intended as a magic remedy to lose weight or deflate.
Surely, however, correct hydration – often difficult to maintain especially in winter, because we sweat less and feel less thirsty – is the fundamental starting point for "cleaning up" the organism. By taking advantage of its organs responsible for purification: the kidneys!
Many people also don't like the neutral taste of water but it is unhealthy to replace it with industrial drinks and ready-made juices rich in sugar. Tea, in this sense, is perfect: fragrant and with a delicate flavour, helps you drink more without feeling heavy. Those with a sweet tooth, obviously, can naturally sweeten it with a teaspoon of honey!
